Preparation of Repair Specifications
The appointment of an Rea Associates will be of benefit to all parties involved: the repairer, the yacht owner and the insurer. Our company will ensure that the vessel is repaired to an acceptable standard and in line with regulations and requirements, and as such they are often a vital link between all parties involved. We have experience of many different builds and repair techniques (and possibly even those of the original yacht builder in the case of repairs) and will be able to offer guidance and advice based on our experience and knowledge.
Inspection visits during the repair process will involve an initial assessment, during which we will determine the extent of the damage. This process will also include conversations with all relevant parties and detailed research into any specific problems. Agreement (or preparation) of a thorough repair specification will provide clear guidance and will allow a detailed quotation to be prepared. A review of the final invoice is often required. Interim inspections will normally be required during the repair period and a final examination to confirm the integrity of the repairs.
